The Start Menu
The Start menu is where you access your programs, folders, files and settings.
- The start button
Clicking on this button opens the Start menu
- Search box
Type in the search box and results will appear on the left panel
- Shutdown (power button)
Click this button to shut-down the computer
- Username
Shows user who is currently logged on
- Left and right panels
Left panel displays programs and search results and the right panel has links to locations that you are likely to use frequently.
The Control Panel
The control panel allows you to change the feel and look of your Windows. You can set security settings, user accounts, and hardware and software configuration, add and remove programs and whole other stuff.
- Address bar
Shows where you are and the path you took to get there
- Search
You can type words or phrases to find settings or programs that you want to open in Control Panel.
