Students tests positive for COVID-19
A student at the University of Papua New Guinea’s (UPNG) Open Campus and three high school students have tested positive for COVID-19, reports Loop PNG.
The announcement was made by PNG Prime Minister, James Marape yesterday.
It is a day student at the Open Campus. The student tested positive. Again, as I said, we’ll give localized measures on what happens in the school.

PM Marape also shared that three high school students also tested positive.
Meanwhile UPNG Vice Chancellor Professor Frank Griffin also, via a memo, stated that he was contacted by the WHO/NDOH technical officials and advised that the student is a relative of a staff of the Central Public Health Laboratory who tested positive for the virus.
Griffin also called for anyone who had close contact with the student to get tested immediately.
The total number of positive cases in PNG is now at 28.
