How to Unlock a Digicel PNG Huawei E5832 Mobile Wi-Fi Modem (Full Guide)
Unlocking your Huawei E5832 mobile Wi-Fi modem from Digicel PNG gives you the freedom to use any SIM card—not just the one tied to your device. In this guide, we walk you through step by step. Follow carefully and proceed at your own risk.
⚠️ Warning: This process may void your warranty or damage your device if done incorrectly. Proceed responsibly.

What You’ll Need
- A Huawei E5832 modem (with battery fully charged)
- A computer or laptop
- Software tools:
• DC Unlocker (latest version)
• PSAS (Phone System Analysis Software)
• A text editor (e.g. Notepad) - A SIM card from a different network (to test the unlock)
Step 1: Get the Device Recognized
- Disconnect the Huawei E5832 and insert no SIM card.
- Connect it via USB to your computer and allow the drivers to install.
- Confirm successful connection via Device Manager → you should see it listed under Network Adapters as a Huawei device.

Step 2: Insert an “Invalid” SIM
- Eject the SIM (if present) and insert a SIM card not authorized for this device (e.g., from another network).
- The modem’s LED should show “Invalid SIM”.
- Reconnect the modem to your computer. The PC should detect it again.

Step 3: Fetch Device Data via DC Unlocker
- Open DC Unlocker.
- Under “Manufacturer,” select Huawei; under “Model” choose Auto Detect.
- Click Search.
- Save the data output from DC Unlocker to a text file—this includes key diagnostic info (e.g. COM port).

Step 4: Use PSAS to Read EFS (File System)
- Launch PSAS.
- Go to Hardware Forensics → Use Mobile Ports → QC Com Diag.
- Select the COM port that corresponds to your Huawei (often the second COM port).
- In the diagnostic panel:
• Click “Read EFS”
• Set Max Page = 600
• Enable Alternative Method
• Click Let’s Go - Save the EFS dump along with the DC Unlocker file for reference.

Step 5: Locate the Unlock Code
- Open the saved EFS dump file in your text editor.
- Search (Ctrl + F) for the term “profile”.
- Near that section you should find an 8-digit unlock code embedded among the data.
- Copy that 8-digit code and save it separately (e.g. “HuaweiE5UnlockCode.txt”).

Step 6: Unlock Your Huawei E5832
- Open a browser and navigate to your modem’s admin page:
http://192.168.1.1/indexSl.asp - If that page doesn’t appear, go to the default login page (often accessible at
http://192.168.1.1).- Default credentials: username =
admin, password =admin
- Default credentials: username =
- Enter the 8-digit unlock code and click Apply.
- The device should now be unlocked.

Final Notes & After-Unlock Setup
- Unlocking will reset your modem to factory defaults.
- You’ll need to reconfigure the APN / profile settings for whatever network you want to use.
- This method worked for my Huawei E5832 in PNG; your device may differ.
