Google and Samsung show respect for Jobs, cancel phone launch
Apple’s rivals Google and Samsung have cancelled the launch of their new smart phone to honor the late Steve Jobs.
According to CNN, Samsung and Google have delayed the much anticipated Nexus phone which will be the first to run on the new Android called Ice-Cream Sandwich. Kim Titus, spokesperson for Samsung, said that under the circumstance, “it wasn’t the right time to make a major product announcement.”
They had initially planned to launch the product this Tuesday at a wireless industry trade show in San Diego. Titus also affirmed users and shareholders that the delay is only as a sign of respect to Jobs who has been described as an icon in the industry and that product development is on track.
Steve Jobs passed away last Wednesday from pancreatic cancer.
