GSM mobile wars get religiously nasty
The ongoing war between GSM mobile providers is really getting nasty.
This morning I received an email attacking Irish company Digicel. The attacks, I believe, were designed to feed on the religious beliefs we, as a Christian country, claim to have.
This is the message that was forwarded to me:
“Read this, it sounds frightening…Mak bilon lusim digicel na switch igo bek long bemobile gen…Devil/Satan is already in the phone system so be careful…!
This shouldn’t scare you but encourage you to use your phone for good and Godly purposes only!
DIGICEL:
D-devil
I-is
G-going
I-into
C-complicating
E-everybody’s
L-livesDigicel is a demonic movement that even the manager himself knows nothing about this. The name DIGICEL is a camouflage name for “DIS-IS-HELL” therefore don’t be fooled to say “I Love my Digicel or all I need is my Digicel”coz if you do,you’re confessing that you love the devil or all you need is the devil.”
At first glance it seemed like just one of these viral emails we get every other day. But then it struck me. This is a deliberate attack on the communication company Digicel.
I couldn’t care less what the mobile companies are saying about each other. All I care about is the competition they provide. However, using religion as a weapon is unethical and unchristian.
Using religion as a means to attract customers is simply blasphemy.
