Expression of Interest (EOI) for Electricity Online Payment
PNG POWER LTD (PPL) is fully corporatized State Owned Enterprise responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution, and retailing of electricity in Papua New Guinea (PNG). PNG POWER has over 2,000 employees across the four regions (Southern, Momase, Highlands and New Guinea Islands) and has 33 Customer Service Centers. The company currently has 152,000 customers (138,000 are prepaid customers and 14, 000 are post-paid customers).
PNG Power does not have an Online Payment Platform to retail power and relies on commercial offices to vend as well as utilizing third-party agents to vend across the country. PNG POWER is looking to tender for a payment platform that can respond to current regulatory requirements, customer demands, and technology changes globally to unlock opportunities to improve business outcomes.
Before PNG Power develops the scope for this tender, we will like to reach out to potential developers, suppliers or partners for such a platform for options or features to that should be included in a modern online payment platform. Also, please state your desired level of involvement in developing such a platform. Features of this portal will include:
• Access through mobile and internet platforms
• Ability for customers to access their account and usage details
• Integration to PPL’s billing ecosystem
• Cost effective
• Accessible across PNG
From these submissions, we will develop the scope for a tender that may include these additional features. This EOI will be issued early in 2020. Interest parties may request for clarification before the EOI submission date. Any request for clarification must be sent in writing by paper mail or electronic email to:
