Calls for EOI: Oil Search 2019 Apprentice /Trainee Program
Covering the following trades:
- Process Technician;
- Mechanical Technician, and;
- Electrical Technician.
Based within the PNG – Production Training Department, the successful applicant would have to complete the National Apprenticeship Trade Testing (NATTB) Approval Program for Certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Playing a key role in the safe and efficient daily operation and maintenance of the facilities.
- Being an active part of the continuous improvement process for the operation.
- Operating or conducting maintenance in designated areas of the facilities in line with your competency.
- Work within the facility Permit to Work system and other Oil Search systems for safety.
- Perform to the high practical and ethical standards required of a world class operation.
- Complete training and assessments as required by the NATTB to obtain a trade certificate.
You must meet these key criteria:
- Must have successfully completed Year 12 (Higher School Certificate – or equivalent studies) after 2014.
- Achieved B grades in Year 12 or above in English, Mathematics with Science being desirable.
- Must have completed relevant graduate and technical vocation program.
- Soft skills – Teamwork, must be able to work with others. Good communication skills, proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook is preferred. Able to self-organize with good time management skills.
- Have a NID card, current passport or able to obtain a passport.
- Have a current driver’s license and able to complete full license to drive within the 1st year of the program.
- Mechanical Trade applicants require minimum Grade 12 with MFM Trade /PETT Certification
- Electrical Trade applicants require minimum Grade 12 with Electrical Trade /PETT Certification.
- Process Technicians Trade applicants require minimum Grade 12 with Electrical or Mechanical discipline trade /PETT Certificate.
