Brutalized student speaks out
Thirteen year old, Ben Francis who was the victim to police brutality in Kimbe recently has come out publicly to appeal to the Minister for Police – Jelta Wong and the Police Commissioner – Gari Baki to have his case investigated well and have these police men who beat him up almost to death removed from the force.
The young boy is in grade four and attends Kimbe Primary School and has not been attending school for almost two and half weeks since the incident occurred at Bali Bris in Kimbe.
Ben with his parents – Francis Kaimle and mother Elizabeth Francis told NBC News that police claims on him being part of a robbery was all lies.
The boy’s father – Kaimle said his son happened to walk where the holdup took place and in fear to police chasing the suspects, he also ran and police targeted him.
Kaimle who had an audience with the Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent – John Midi said they have made known their grievances and will have the matter forward for justice.
Meanwhile, his son Ben said he wants to become a police man like these personnel that beat him up and ensure such actions are not carried out on those that have not yet been arrested and charged but become victims to such beatings.
Ben said the beatings he had received had made him stronger to pursue his dream and study hard.
