Hyperloop to feature at CONEXPOCONAGG 2017
Hyperloop One (H1) will be featured in the world’s largest construction expo CONEXPOCONAGG 2017 which will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from March 8 – 12. According to the event’s website, Wayne Rapp, Hyperloop’s director of manufacturing will be among a number of guest tech speakers including representatives from Microsoft, NASA and Solar Roadways.
Rapp’s talk will focus on “What is the Hyperloop” and how it will be reinventing the transportation system.
Hyperloop
Hyperloop is a proposed mode of transport that would propel a pod like vehicle through a vacuum tube at speeds faster than an airplane.
According to the official website, it would make a trip from Melbourne to Sydney as short as an hour. Currently, it takes about 3 hours by train, 4 by airplane and more than 10 hours by road.
United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to Tech Crunch, is already in talks with Hyperloop One to build a hyperloop transportation system from Dubai to Abu Dhabi which would shorten the trip to 12 minutes.
The journey which is about 160km normally takes 2 hours by car. However, H1 is promising a shorter ride.
H1 has also partnered with Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to sponsor the feasibility study which will be conducted by McKinney & Co. and the Bjark Ingels Group.
