How to subscribe to Digicel’s prepaid digital TV service
Papua New Guineans (PNG) enjoying Digicel Play, Digicel’s over-the-air (OTA) prepaid digital TV service will have to start paying soon.
Subscriptions will be done using mobile phones, and here is how you can subscribe to the service by simply entering the following USSD code, *515# and pressing send.
This will bring up a prompt for your Digicel Play number. This can be found on the side of your set-top-box box (box ID) or by pressing the OPT button on your remote.
Take note, when entering the ID provided on your set-top-box package, do not enter the first seven digits (0500000).
According to Digicel’s customer care, the numbers are case sensitive meaning they all have to be in upper case (capital letters).
This will bring up the prepaid plan options available. The minimum plan is for a day while the maximum is for a month with the option of a premium service.
Now, we have not been able to get the prices for these plans yet, but we know that they will be effective by January 14, 2015.
