Regulating a Competitive ICT Market in PNG – the Resultant Effects by Charles Punaha, NICTA CEO [audio]

NICTA CEO, Charles Punaha, at the second Papua New Guinea Computer Society (PNGCS) quarterly seminar at the Holiday Inn in Port Moresby (June 12, 2013)
Fortunately, for the audience at the Papua New Guinea Computer Society (PNGCS) second quarter seminar at the Holiday Inn, a last minute change had the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Information and Communication Technology Authority (NICTA) himself, Charles Punaha, present the topic “Regulating a Competitive ICT Market in PNG – the Resultant Effects.”
His presentation took over an hour but the enigmatic man managed to keep the audience interested – and even took 10 extra minutes to answer questions.
The presentation started with a basic introduction to NICTA and then went to state its roles and responsibilities including the major changes that they have or are enforcing which may see a drastic decrease in the cost of ICT in the country within the next year or so.
Punaha also indicated some major changes including the introduction of LTE technology, SIM card registration, cyber-crime and the switch from analogue to digital television broadcasting.
Anyway, if you missed out on the seminar then I’ve included an audio recording just for you.
Happy listening and please leave a comment.
