UPNG Council terminates Fleming, appoints Lovai
The University of Papua New Guinea’s (UPNG) Interim Council has terminated the contract of Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs) Professor Paul Fleming and appointed Professor Betty Lovai to act on the position until an appointment is made.
In a circular dated January 5 2021 to staff and students, the university’s registrar, Dr Peter Petsul, stated that the council had made the decision in the last meeting of 2020 academic year. He also assured Professor Lovai support on her new duties and responsibilities.

The reason for Fleming’s termination has not been made public.
