How to use GMail’s Confidential Mode
GMail is one of the biggest and oldest providers of free web mail. Unfortunately, there have been issues with security over the years.
In an effort to protect users, Google has come up with the ‘Confidential Mode’ which allows users to disable recipients from forwarding, copying and printing the email.
The ‘Confidential Mode’ can be used or activated via the lock/timer button at the bottom. See red arrow in image below.

It also comes with an expiration timer which is supposed to delete the email after a set period.

Once the mode is activated, it will appear blue like the image below.

There is also the added bonus of setting an SMS passcode. This option requires the sender to put in the recipient’s mobile phone number which will receive a code to open the message. Unfortunately, this option is not available for Papua New Guinea (PNG).

The recipient will also find that the forwarding, copying and downloading options will be disabled or may not even show.
This option is great and allows senders to have more control over their information – and it does not block screen prints/shots.
If you value your information and wish help your friends protect their emails, then share this information with your contacts.
