Student’s death worries Madang Governor

Madang Governor, Peter Yama, is concerned with the suspicious death of a final year Business Studies student at the Divine Word University campus and is urging police to speed up the investigation, according to The National.
The student’s body was found hanging by the neck outside his classroom. However, the circumstance surrounding the death are suspicious with police suspecting that the scene may have been staged.
Governor Yama claims that he has received reports that there had been an altercation on campus before the body was found.
The deceased student has been identified as Christopher Saoni from West Sepik, and the local community in the province have expressed concern about campus security.
Meanwhile, students have also raised concerns about the firm providing security on the university campus.
