Hard work pays off for Lucy
Every child’s dream in school is to do well in studies and leave a legacy behind, let alone put a smile on a parents face.
This is exactly what Lucy-Esther Benjamin did when she took out the dux award for grade 10 at Waigani Christian College.
An emotional Lucy-Esther, when speaking to Post-Courier, could not hold back her tears as she acknowledged the support of her parents, in particular her mum.
I want to thank my mum, she works hard everyday and that motivates me to put in extra effort into studies
I want to attend university in the future and become an independent woman.

Jonathan Benjamin, proud father,
Lucy-Esther does not only leave behind a shining legacy in the school but an example to many PNG young women who can beat all odds to reach such realm of intellectual capacity.
It also reminds other students about being obedient and having a positive character and commitment to studies.
