Amazon Go Upgrades the Shopping Experience to 2.0
The New Way to Shop
Amazon has introduced a new store that will revolutionize the way people shop. It utilizes Amazon Go: the world’s most advance shopping technology.
According to Amazon, it is new kind of store that does not require checkout. All transactions are tracked by the Amazon Go app that bills everything to take in the store to your Amazon account. Amazing! But it doesn’t come easy.
It has taken four years for them to develop the technology which is a fusion of technologies including computer vision, sensor fusion and deep learning which Amazon calls ‘Just Walk Out Technology’. It automatically detects when items are taken or returned and updates the shoppers virtual cart.
The store is located at ‘2131 7th Ave, Seattle, WA, on the corner of 7th Avenue and Blanchard Street.’ It stocks mainly food of the ready to eat variety and groceries. However, it is not available to the public yet.
The store is still in the beta stage and is only available to Amazon employees in the program. However, they have indicated that it will be open early in 2017.
