Lae Based Cable TV Provider to Go OTA
A Lae based cable television (TV) provider has announced their intention to broadcast Over-the-Air (OTA) which should increase coverage in Morobe province, Post Courier (February 23) reports.
Tolec Cable TV, a subscription based service provider, is currently installing a 100 metre long tower to roll out the service and according to company director Danielle Coutts; the product will be similar to Digicel Play and ClickTV but will feature up to 80 channels.
Mrs Coutts said the product would reach out clients that were out of cable range especially toward the 10 Mile, Nadzab and Igam Barracks areas.
Coutts also mentioned that the project has been in progress for the last four years which resulted in the purchase of a tower in 2012 with transmission work commencing in December last year.
The tower is anticipated to be officially launched around the end of March.
