Digicel turns on 4G LTE for post-paid clients
Digicel PNG has turned on the first ten 4G LTE wireless broadband sites in Port Moresby for post-paid clients who can access this service via two 4G compatible Huawei devices; the 4G LTE Broadband Router or the 4G LTE MiFi.
John Mangos, Digicel PNG CEO, said there was a real demand for high speed internet and they were meeting that demand through this new service.
He said there are ten sites in Port Moresby and in time the service would be rolled out to other provinces.
8 of the 10 sites, Mangos said, were located within the CBD while two others covered the Savannah Heights and Gordons areas.
Postpaid clients can get Digicel’s 4G LTE coverage at, Gordons, Savannah Heights, Ela Beach, Hanuabada, Touaguba Hill, Ela Makana, Konedobu, and at downtown BSP, ANG Haus and Deloittes.
Digicel is offering 5 different monthly data plans starting at the Smart Plus bundle at K99 for 1GB right up to the Max plan which sets you back K899 for 15GB. The plans come with a K0.16 out of rate charge per MB.
A reception was held on Wednesday at the Royal Papua Yacht Club (RPYC) to launch this service.
