How to Flash Chinese ROM for Lenovo A7-30 tablet (A3300HV)
The missus recently returned from a study trip to China and brought back a Lenovo A7-30 tablet (A3300HV). Although not a high powered as products from Samsung or Apple, it had a certain appeal to it. Unfortunately, it had a Chinese firmware (ROM) which did not support Google.
In this post, I will show you can flash the Chinese firmware and replace it with a European version that supports Google and all her products.
Firstly, you need to download the firmware. Now, I’ve searched high and low on the internet and this is the only place, 4rek.com, I could find it. The archived file from this Russian site contains the firmware, drivers and flash-tool needed to change the firmware. It is approximately 800MB.
Once you’ve got the file, extract it to your desktop.
Now, before going any further I must ask you to make a backup of your files and firmware, just in case something goes wrong.
Flashing is easy. However, I’m not going put a step by step instruction as there are a number of videos online that can take you through that process. Now, this video is not exactly for the Lenovo A7-30 tablet (A3300HV model) but the procedure is the same.
Once you’ve finished flashing the firmware, you need to update it again. This can be done by going to your tablet’s Settings and tapping on About tablet, then tapping on System update.
