Global Satellite Communications Provider Acquires Oceanic Broadband
Global satellite communications provider, SpeedCast, has acquired Oceanic Broadband, strengthening its growth in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and the Australasian region.
SpeedCast announced the acquisition on their website and stated that with Oceanic Broadband’s technical expertise and infrastructure they would be able to strengthen support for their oil & gas, mining and NGO clients.
It also stated that Oceanic Broadband clients would benefit from the company’s extensive engineering and support including world-class infrastructure and global coverage.
SpeedCast CEO, Pierre-Jean Beylier said:
“This latest investment, like our recent SatComms Australia acquisition, further cements our ability to provide our natural resource customers with an unmatched level of local infrastructure and support in the key markets where they operate. In addition, it establishes a strong point-of-presence for SpeedCast in the fast growing PNG market, strengthening our position as the leading satellite service provider in the Asia-Pacific region.”
Oceanic Broadband CEO, Tony Water said SpeedCasts commitment to innovation and reputation as a leading player in satellite meant a perfect fit for their company. He added:

SpeedCast was founded in 1999 and is owned by Hong Kong company AsiaSat which bought 100% shares in 2007.
