Jungle survival gadgets: CC Solar Observer AM/FM Weather Wind Up Emergency Radio
Ugh! The name is a mouthful but rest assured this little beauty will keep you up-to-date with the weather and latest happenings around you, and if you are somewhere up in the Kokoda ranges then this might also provide a window into the urban world.
The radio can be charged under the sun for 8 hours to provide power for 4 -6 hours depending on the volume. Or on rainy days you just crank the handle for 90 seconds to get approximately 12 minutes of radio play, plus you can always insert 3 AA alkaline batteries (if you are lazy like me).
The CC Solar Observer AM/FM Weather Wind Up Emergency Radio is not only for use in the jungle but you can also use this unit at home, on your boat or practically anywhere.
Oops! Before I forget, the unit has a built-in LED flashlight which is very practical in the jungle.
