Telikom PNG services to be disrupted again
It seems that services provided by Telikom PNG have a knack for disruption and if it isn’t contractors like Huawei Technologies, then it’s the telco giant themselves.
According a public notice put out by the “always there” nationally owned telecommunications company engineers will be carrying out stress testing on its support fibre-optic network in “anticipation of a planned major cut over by PNG Power” on the ground system wire system between Lae and Madang.
The test, scheduled for 2 am – 6 am on May 6 may have clients experiencing “service congestion with minimum outage on landline, data, GSM, CDMA and international traffic.” However, the exercise is necessary to ensure continuity in the event of a cut-over.
Telikom PNG expressed sincere regrets for any inconvenience caused and ensured its commitment to providing improved services to its loyal clients.
