Google Nexus 7
The Google Nexus 7 has been described as the “ultimate pocket rocket” by TechLife and with good reason too. The tablet has a high performance processor and the latest Android OS for under $300, which we think should be a catalyst better pricing on other Android tablets in the near future.
The tablet has a runs on the latest version of Google’s OS, Android 4.1 or Jelly Bean comes packed with a NVidia’s 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor which delivers explosive gaming performance and full HD 1080 pixel video.
Jelly Bean also brings a noticeable change to the interface with finer, smoother feel than Ice Cream Sandwich (ISC aka Android 4.0). It brings the interface closer to the iPad feel. On top of that, the Nexus 7 has 802.11n Wi-Fi networking but can only connect to 2.4GHz networks which is not a problem for most users.
The Nexus 7 or any other tablet would not be complete without Bluetooth connectivity which allows you to pair up with a Bluetooth keyboard and take your office with you anywhere. However, there are a few things missing in this tablet like video output and external storage. Fortunately, the Nexus 7 comes in two versions with Google selling 8GB and 16GB capacity versions online. You can also find these with retailers.
If you are on a budget then this tablet is worth your money. Although, there are other versions that have added features like the Toshiba AT1S0 or the Acer Iconia Tab A200 but they average between $300 and $400, and the A200 only runs on a dual-core chip.
Another important factor is that the Nexus 7 runs on Google’s latest operating system, and being sold by the search giant, has the probability of getting updates before all other Android tablets.
The Google Nexus 7 is selling from $249 which includes shipping and can be found at www.google.com/nexus.
