Motorola Mobility hits Apple with second patent claim
Google’s subsidiary Motorola Mobility has hit back at Apple with a second patent infringement claim filed with International Trade Commission (ITC).
According to InformationWeek, the company is claiming seven infringement s including the highly controversial voice controlled assistant Siri, location reminder, video player and email notification.
The claim covers the bulk of Apple’s consumer products including the iPod Touch, the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad 3, Mac Pro, iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.
According to a spokeswoman from Motorola, the company would like to settle the matter but Apple’s unwillingness to work out a license has forced them to take protective measures and defend their engineers’ innovation.
The on-going patent wars amongst the smartphone makers have been going on since 2009 with all the major players being involved.
