Young PNG embracing technology
It seems that while the Electoral Commission (EC) is still slow on the technology treadmill, ordinary and young Papua New Guineans (PNG) have embraced advances in technology with open arms.

According to recent statistics provided by Socialbakers.com there are 102640 from the country signed up on the World’s largest social network, Facebook. This is only 1.73% of the total population yet it means over a whopping 80% of Papua New Guinean going online are on Facebook and over 18 000 of these users only signed within the last 3 months.
The report shows that 38% are between the ages of 18 -14, 25 – 34 make 20%, 10% from the ages of 35 – 44 and the numbers keep dropping with the age category. The statistics is open for interpretation but the markers show that more and more young Papua New Guineans are going online. Not only that, the demography shows a close margin between the sexes.

59% of the PNG Facebok community is made of males while the females take 41%. This is relatively even compared to other countries.
The statistics is open for interpretation. However, it is an overwhelming evidence that young Papua New Guineans are welcoming new advances and technology.
