3 of my favorite CMS
Content Management Systems (CMS) are programs that assist you in managing the content and look of your website.
A few years back, when websites were simple, coding all your content was an easy task. However, when websites evolved from a simple static page to dynamic and interactive sites – the task became harder.
The majority (if not all) large, company website use a CMS to manage their content. CMS provides an easy avenue to update content and ensure uniformity in presentation.
Here is a list of 3 of my favorite CMS
1. Joomla!
Joomla! tops my list because it’s easy to use and has a very large repository of readily available and often free extensions. The Office of Higher Education website uses Joomla! to power its website.
2. Drupal
If you want a clean site, then Drupal is one of the best open source CMS available. You will need to know a bit of coding but that shouldn’t bother you too much. An example of a Drupal site is TheNational.
3. WordPress
Originally designed to create blogs, this CMS can be easily adapted to your needs. A great example is Air Niugini’s website.
WordPress also offers free blogging services using their CMS. A notable Papua New Guinea blog on WordPress is the Masalai blog.
