Configuring BeMobile Internet on Your Nokia 5230
With the introduction of bemobile’s turbo promotion, mobile internet users can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their credits can go an extra mile.
I recently acquired the configuration for my Nokia 5230 and have tried it. Below are the configuration and instructions from bemobile. Please note that before you start call bemobile Customer Care on 1555 or 323 5555 to have your SIM activated for EDGE/GPRS.
EDGE/GPRS APN Setting Procedure
Create two (3) access points, two for Internet Browsing and one for MMS
APN Settings:

Nokia Configurations
Web Browsing
- To create a new access point, select Menu>Tools>Settings>Connections>Access Point, Then Options>New Access Point
- Connection Name: [web connection name] * any name
- Data Bearer: packet data (Nokia5230)
- Access Point Name (for packet data only): internet
- Username
- Password
- Authentication: Secure
- Homepage: http://www.bemobile.com.pg
- Then select Options>Advanced settings to change the following settings:
- Network type: IPv4
- Phone IP address (IPv4):
- DNS Address:
- Proxy Server Address:
- Proxy Port Number:
- Go to Menu>Messaging>Options>Settings>Multimedia Message
- Access Point in Use: [web connection name] * any name
WAP Browsing
- To create a new access point, select Menu>Tools>Settings>Connections>Access Point, Then Options>New Access Point
- Connection Name: [web connections name2] * any name
- Data bearer: packet data (Nokia5230)
- Access point name (for packet data only): wap
- Username:
- Password:
- Authentication: Secure
- Homepage: http://www.bemobile.com.pg
- Go to Menu>Messaging>Options>Settings>Multimedia Message
- Access Point in Use: [web connection name2]
MMS
- To create a new access point, select Menu>Tools>Settings>Connections>Access Point, Then Options>New Access Point
- Connection Name: [mms connection name] * any name
- Data Bearer: packet data (Nokia5230)
- Access point name (for packet data only): internet
- Username:
- Password:
- Authentication: Secure
- Homepage: http://192.168.103.68:38090/was
- Then select Options>Advanced settings to change the following settings:
- Network type: IPv4
- Phone IP address (for IPv4):

Hi Joe, the settings are specific for bemobile network in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
My best advice would be to call customer care for your local network settings.
Are there any web sites that I can go to and no credit deduction on bemobile network? Some ISP allow this, what about bemobile?
Question 2,
Are there any secure proxy that I can use on the bemobile network for browsing, securely, I don’t trust just using the WAP or internet APN for browsing sensitive information, I’m using a dongle to access internet.
Any one out there have answers to this question, please post it up here,
