3 Things to Consider When Choosing Antivirus Software
Things to consider when choosing antivirus software
Many people have their own ideas when it comes to antivirus software. I have my own too. This has led to the question many people have asked me “What is the best antivirus software?”
The truth is there is no “best” antivirus software as there is no simple factor to consider when choosing and installing an antivirus program.
If you ask ten different people this question, you will most likely get more than several different answers. However, listed below are some factors I consider when choosing.
Cost
The first factor I check when choosing antivirus software is cost.
I usually refer people to free programs like Avast and AVG.
Now free does not mean it’s not good – on the contrary.
Most AV companies release free versions as an advertising tool for their commercial copies.
This gives the potential corporate client to have a feel and the option to decide.
Computer Resources
Most anti-virus programs run in the background and take up a lot of computer resources. If you are trying to install and AV; its best you check if your PC has enough resources to run the program without hogging all the resources and slowing down the machine.
Ease of Use
Some anti-viruses are quite complicated to configure and use. Installing something complicated will mean getting help from computer shops that will probably cost you extra.
Find something simple to install and use.
