Divine Word University hosts 38th graduation
More than 800 students have graduated from Divine Word University (DWU) with their Bachelor Degrees in their respective program of study with flying colors, in Madang yesterday.
This is the university’s 38th graduation ceremony since its upgrading from an institute to a university. And as the leading university in PNG, it has been very successful in developing and producing quality human resources out of the workforce.
Australian High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea Bruce Davis, in his keynote address said DWU is an outstanding university and he is pleased to be speaking to the future leaders of PNG graduating with their degrees. He added that, Australia and PNG always had a good relationship between them and with Papua New Guinean’s recent assistance in the Australian Bush Fires, in return Australia will always stand with PNG during times of hardship and crisis.
DWU President Professor Cecilia Nembou congratulated all the graduates and thanked parents for entrusting their child/children to DWU and also thanked her staff and lecturers for educating and developing students who are graduating.
The main campus of DWU was filled with parents, guardians, friends and relatives from all over Papua New Guinea who traveled to Madang to witness the graduation ceremony.
