NICTA Confirms Complaints about Retail ICT Services
The National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) has confirmed receiving general complaints regarding certain retail ICT services and is in the process of investigating the issues surrounding the matter.
The issues relate to the following mobile services:
- Voicemail service charges;
- Data bundle charges, and;
- Promotional advertising.

NICTA stated that as regulator of the ICT industry, they have taken consumer complaints seriously and have started the necessary process as required under Section 238, 239 and 240 of NICT Act 2009 to investigate.
They also assured the general public that they were committed to resolving these issues amicably in the interest of the consumer welfare.
NICTA’s Principal Consumer Analyst, Andirauga Paru Nongkas of the Consumer Affairs branch is currently investigating the complaints.
