Directions on Restrictions Related to Resource Project Areas
The Commissioner of Police and Emergency Controller on May 4, 2020, issued the following directions deemed necessary to eradicate the danger of the outbreak of COVID-19, and to mitigate its impacts in Papua New Guinea:
- Pursuant to Emergency Order No. 25 (International and Domestic Travel), no person shall travel into or out of Resource Project Areas unless authorised by the Emergency Controller.
- Pursuant to Emergency Order No. 25 (International and Domestic Travel), no aircraft, vessel or vehicle shall carry persons into or out of Resource Project Areas unless authorised by the Emergency Controller.
- Entry into Resource Project Sites are only by authorisation of the Emergency Controller.
- There shall be no gatherings of more than 5 people around Resource Project Areas.
- There shall be no inbound or outbound movement of Resource Project assets unless authorised by the Emergency Controller.
- These directions shall take effect immediately.
