September 24: Launch Date for Xiaomi Mi4c Smartphone
The Xiaomi Mi4c smartphone is reportedly set for launch on September 24 and will come in two variants; one with 2GB ram and the other 3GB, according to Gizbot, and both will come with a Qualcomm 808 hexa-core SoC (Snapdragon) clocked at 1.4GHz.
Both variants will come with 16 and 32GB of storage respectively and the smartphone has passed TENNA certification in China. The Xiaomi Mi4c smartphone will reportedly retail for approximately $220 (approx. K600) for the 2GB variant. However, users may have to wait a week before being able to buy the device.
Xiaomi Today reports that whilst the launched of the Mi4c will be on September 24, consumers will have to wait until October 3 onward to purchase.
The company will release 100, 000 units per variant with a total of 200, 000 units for sale and WCFTech states that limited number of units is so that sales for Redmi Note 2 is not impacted.
WCFTech also revealed leaked specifications of the Mi4c including a Type C USB port and a 3,080mAh battery to juice to smartphone for longer usage time and greater mobility.
Xiaomi Inc, a privately owned Chinese electronics company founded in 2010, is a relatively newcomer into smartphone industry but has grown to be the 4th largest smartphone maker in the world with huge markets in Asia.
Xiaomi’s penetration into the Papua New Guinea market is still limited with only a few users bringing in their devices from overseas and individual sales online. However, the company’s growth, we can expect it on our shores soon.
