Digicel PNG sets up Geek Squad stall at Vision City
Digicel PNG has set up a stall in front of their Vision City branch to configure internet access on smartphones.
According to the lovely sales models, the stall will be open until Friday, 22 February, 2013 and are calling subscribers with all models and types of smartphones to have the Geek Squad configure their phones. This is an alternative to the preconfigured settings that can be accessed via SMS.
Currently Digicel PNG provides preconfigured settings that can be sent via SMS to subscribers. This can be done by texting “Y” to 1650. However, the service only applies to certain handsets. This new service expands on this.
The Geek Squad will configure any phone (including cheap knock offs) to access internet via its communication channels.
Meanwhile, internet subscribers can utilise the communication provider’s data bundle for non-Blackberry phones by texting “Data” to 16333. This will get you 20MB of data for K1.49
