Yahoo has reportedly fired Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Carol Blartz and named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Tim Morse as interim CEO.
Blartz, 62, sent an email to staff titled “Goodbye” informed them that she has just been “…fired over the phone by Yahoo’s chairman of the board.”
The move comes about as a leadership reorganization exercise is underway, and was not a surprise to many. However, the timing does. Blartz still has 15 months in her contract.
