Final meet for 2014 PNG ICT Cluster announced
The final meeting for the PNG ICT Cluster has been announced on the Facebook group, PNG ICT Community, with an open invitation to all interested persons.
According to the invite, the ICT Cluster was initiated in March and soon coming to an end. It was initiated by BizClim with support from the European Union, PNG Business Council and PNG Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Peruka Tamarua from the Business Council shared this:
“The PNG IC cluster is an initiative funded by BizClim, the European Union instrument for support to private sector, the PNG Business Council of PNG and PNG Chamber of Commerce and Industry are helping to drive this initiative and the two major events so far (the cluster muster and strategic workshop) have attracted more than 150 participants including support from the government and the private sector and academia. This project is unique, as never before has cluster development been used as a tool for economic growth in pacific island countries.”
Tamarua also added that the last main event will be held on June 24 at the Holiday Inn in Port Moresby which will feature international speakers on the following topics:
- The California Model
- The role of Academic Institutions
- Process of Establishing and Growing ICT Start-up Incubators
- Presentation of Project Ideas
